SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship List Totaling Around $39,500!

  1. July 5 | Washington City/County Management Association Scholarships | $5,000

    • For students pursing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration or Public Policy with a desire to work in City/County Management. Applicants must reside in Washington, have a Bachelor’s degree, and attend a graduate program in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.

  2. July 10  | Sharon Stephens Brehm Undergraduate Psychology Scholarships | $5,500

    • The Sharon Stephens Brehm Undergraduate Psychology Scholarships will recognize outstanding psychology undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. The Brehm Scholarships will help defray the students’ direct educational costs (e.g. tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks, etc.).

  3. July 12 | Dr. Soronnadi Nnaji Legacy Scholarship | $5,000

    • Any high school senior or current undergraduate student at a two or four-year institution who is a first or second generation African immigrant, majoring in a STEM related major and has at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship. Students who have a strong record of volunteerism in their communities and/or are actively involved in African student associations at their school are strongly preferred.

  4. July 15 | Cyntra D. Scott Scholarship | $1,500

    • Inspiring More Minds offers education-based scholarships for individuals living with sickle cell disease. We know that “education” can take many forms. We define it as an activity that furthers one’s knowledge-base to improve their quality of life and advance their ability to create a sustainable livelihood. Applicants must have sickle cell disease (verifiable by a doctor). Applicants must be 25 and under.

  5. July 15 | AiryHair Cosmetology Scholarship | $1,000

    • Must be American or Canadian citizens who currently reside in the United States or Canada. Must be a students that has chosen or will choose Cosmetology as their Major.

      To apply, applicants can submit a video OR an essay.

  6. July 17 | Donovan Kayne Lujan Memorial Fund | Varies

    • The Donovan Kayne Lujan Memorial Fund mission is to provide scholarships to budding mental health professionals. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university program related to the mental health industry at a school located in New Mexico, Colorado, or Washington. Applicants must also have at least a 3.0 GPA.

  7. July 20 | Joy Cappel Scholarship | $2,500

    • Must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student currently enrolled and accepted at a college or university in the United States for the upcoming fall or spring term. Intended major must be in Life Sciences or a related field.

  8. July 20 | Miguel Mendez Social Justice Scholarship | $1,000

    • Undergraduate, first-generation college students from low-income backgrounds are eligible to apply if they have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and are pursuing a career in social justice. To apply, explain in either a video or essay application how you are working to address an important issue.

  9. July 21 | Overcoming Adversity Cariño Scholarship | $5,000

    • This scholarship supports Latinx high school seniors in Snohomish County, Washington, who are either DACA recipients or undocumented. Please complete all required fields to be considered and upload or attach a letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader. You will have the opportunity to respond to the questions below in English or Spanish.

  10. July 18 | Excellence In Action Scholarship | $5,000

    • The Excellence In Action Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors attending school in the U.S. Students who demonstrate involvement with community or volunteer service and plan to attend school in the fall full-time are welcome to apply.

  11. July 28 | Andrea Claire Matason Memorial Scholarship | $500

    • The Andrea Claire Matason Memorial Scholarship will support high school seniors or undergraduate students who are pursuing veterinary studies. In order to apply, you must have volunteer experience with an animal shelter or animal rescue organization.

  12. July 30 | Zachary Scheppat Memorial Science Scholarship | $5,000

    • Any high school senior in Washington state who has tutoring or volunteering experience and plans to study physical science, biological science, or science education may apply for this scholarship.

  13. July 31 | Annie Ibok Scholarship | $1,000

    • Annie Ibok Scholarship applicants must fulfill the following criteria to be considered:

      • Be a rising college freshmen (priority to recent high school graduates)

      • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

      • Attend and graduate from any county in Washington or California.

  14. July 31 | Flavor of the Month Scholarship | $1,500

    • July is National Ice Cream Month, and we need a little help picking out a "Flavor of the Month" for our famous ice cream scholarship. Tell us all about your ice cream flavor, and you could scoop up a sweet $1,500 scholarship. Must be 14 years of age or older at time of application.Must be a legal U.S. resident.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

FOR WASHINGTON STATE STUDENTS

Summer Youth Leadership Program (SYLP)

  • The Summer Youth Leadership Program (SYLP) is a three-week program designed for Asian American teens in the Greater Seattle Area to explore their identity while developing leadership and communication skills. Participants have a chance to meet local Asian American role models and leaders, discover Asian community resources, and build friendships with teens from other parts of the Puget Sound. Students also have the opportunity to earn scholarships.

  • Requirements: SYLP is open to high school students who have completed their freshman year and are entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year, or have just completed their senior year.

  • Deadline: Still accepting applications!

2025 Summer University Application

  • Summer University is a free six-week program from July through August for rising 9th – 12th graders in the Metropolitan Seattle area. The program is designed to keep high school students engaged and learning during the summer months

  • Requirements: Be an incoming 9th grader (meaning they are starting 9th grade in the fall semester following the program end) or a current high school sophomore, junior, or senior. Have reliable transportation to and from the program class location on a daily basis (Garfield High School). Have a Seattle Public School Student ID.

You Grow Girl Internship

  • We accept applications year-round for high school (17+) and post-secondary scholars who need 6 or more months of social work, clinical, direct service, business or accounting field experience through our internship program.

  • Requirements: Aged 17+ years old. Residing in Washington State. Identify as a woman.

  • Deadline: Year-round.
